BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference released its latest set of Track and Field weekly awards on Wednesday, as Montevallo's Zak Ferguson and Leah Dendy were recognized.

Ferguson was named GSC Men's Track Athlete and Freshman of the Week after setting a school record in the 800m at the Falcon Classic & Multi. Ferguson placed first in the meet, finishing with a time of 1:52.73. The freshman now owns the top 800m time in the GSC and fourth best time in DII.

Dendy was named GSC Women's Field Athlete of the Week after a strong performance in the Pole Vault at the Falcon Classic & Multi. Dendy placed first at the meet with a height of 3.45m, which ranks first overall in the GSC and top-20 in DII.

Montevallo Track and Field returns to action this weekend, as the Falcons are set to compete in the Emory Spring Break Classic.
