Montevallo Closes Falcon Classic with 21 Individual Podium Finishes on Saturday

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo Track and Field closed the Falcon Classic and Multi strong, highlighted by 21 individual podium finishes on Saturday.

Montevallo saw three top-finishes for the men on the track, as Drew Cheslock placed first in the 400m (47.58), Zak Ferguson placed first in the 800m (1:52.73) and Jeremiah Fails placed first in the 200m (21.59). Estan Wrights also earned a podium finish, placing second in the 800m with a time of 1:56.70. The Falcons rounded out podium finishes for the men on the track with a pair of third place finishes in the 110m Hurdles (Marquis Trainer – 15.25) and 100m (Jeremiah Fails – 10.68).

The Falcon men recorded seven podium finishes in the field. Eran Foye Jr. recorded the lone top-finish, placing first in the High Jump with a jump of 1.88m. Three Falcons earned second place finishes in Jack Pesarchick (High Jump – 1.88m), Alonzo Abara (Pole Vault – 4.50m) and Christopher Johnson (Hammer – 47.72m). A trio of Falcons earned third place finishes in Christopher Johnson (Shot Put – 15.10m), Corey Perkins (High Jump – 1.88m), and Preston Bennett (Hammer – 46.91m).

The Montevallo Men's 4x100m Relay team consisting of Chason Howard, Jamell Beatty, Dwight Bellamy, and Jeremiah Fails, placed first overall with a time of 40.98.

The Falcon women saw five podium finishes in the field, most notably Leah Dendy who earned the lone top-finish. Dendy placed first in the Pole Vault with a height of 3.45m. Three Falcons earned second-place finishes in Mari Sofie Een (Pole Vault – 2.75m), Cesleigh Martin (Shot Put – 11.72m), and Saskia Rhind (High Jump – 1.58m). Lauren Dellezay rounded out podium finishes for the women in the field, placing third in the Pole Vault with a height of 2.75m.

A trio of Falcon women earned podium finishes on the track. Hallie Harrell and Ka'Mya Jackson earned second-place finishes, as Harrell placed second in the 100m Hurdles (15.18), and Jackson placed second in the 400m (57.22). Saskia Rhind rounded out podium finishers for the women on the track with a third-place finish in the 100m Hurdles.
