MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo track and field teams concluded the weekend strong with ten top-three finishes at the Troy Doc Anderson Invitational.
Brandon Fisher earned the highest place finish, securing a first-place finish in the Men's Pole Vault. The freshman set a personal record with a height of 4.00m.
Emily Wolf had a solid day with a pair of top-three finishes, placing second in the Women's Discus (40.86m) and third in the Shot Put (13.06m).
Katie Wilkerson finished right behind her in the Discus with a distance of 40.15m.
McKenna Jackson placed seventh in the Shot Put with a distance of 11.29m.
Four men throwers earned top-ten finishes, including
Preston Bennett (Shot Put – 14.80m),
Caleb Newell (Shot Put – 13.58m),
Josh Kreis (Discus – 38.77m), and
Wyatt Pugh (Discus – 38.13m).
Caleb Kariuki and
Gabe Gamble placed third and fourth in the Men's Triple Jump, as Kariuki recorded a jump of 14.01m and Gamble recorded a jump of 13.59m.
Corey Perkins placed third in the Men's High Jump with a jump of 1.85m. On the women's side,
Zauren Burton placed fourth in the High Jump with a jump of 1.58m.
Slate Rohrer,
Drew Cheslock, and the 4x400 Relay team all earned the highest place finishes in running events for Montevallo.
Slate Rohrer earned a pair of third place finishes in the 100m Hurdles (14.63) and the 400m Hurdles (54.03), while
Drew Cheslock placed third in the 400m with a personal record time of 48.79. The 4x400m Relay team consisting of Rohrer,
Jacob Harper,
J'Brelin Cook, and
Patrick Sherrill ran a 3:21.74 to place third.
Jayvian Kendrick placed fifth in the Men's 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.02, while
Jacob Cofield ran a 1:58.79 in the Men's 800m.
Dwight Bellamy set a personal record of 49.59 in the Men's 400m.
Khila Corrothers placed seventh in the Women's 100m with a time of 12.35, while
Josie McDonald placed ninth in the Women's 800m with a time of 2:39.64.
The Falcons return to action on Friday, Apr. 11, for the Berry Field Day Multi and Invite in Mount Berry, Ga.
