MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Falcons (13-16) had their season come to an end with a 79-62 loss to Union in the quarterfinals of the Gulf South Conference tournament. The loss overshadowed a solid night for by guard Braxton Bertolette, who led the Falcons with 21 points. He was 8-of-17 from the field, including 3-for-8 from 3-point range. He also had three steals and a blocked shot. James McNeil added 15 points and Xavier Malcom 12 points, all from long range.

WBB - GSC Tournament

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Montevallo women's basketball team had their season come to an end with a 69-53 loss on the road against top seed and third-ranked Union University in the opening round of the Gulf South Conference tournament. The Falcons finished the 2021-22 season with a record of 13-16. Senior guard Kiya Sain had 15 points and six rebounds to lead UM in her final game as a Falcon. She ends her career amassing over 1,200 points. Junior forward McCarley Northway was the only other Falcon player in double-figures, scoring 11 points.

Alpough

BASEBALL
The Falcons split four games during the week, coming from behind to roll past Miles 11-3, but losing 2-of-3 in a Gulf South Conference series at Valdosta State. The Falcons lost the opening game 9-3, but rebounded to beat the Blazers 10-1 in the first game of the series ending doubleheader. The final game went to VSU in a 1-0 pitchers' dual. The Falcons came out of the week with a record of 14-4 and 1-4 in the GSC

Softball - Ball

SOFTBALL
The Falcons had their hands full against two of the toughest teams in the GSC, UAH and 3rd-ranked Valdosta State. UAH spoiled the home opener with a 11-1, 7-4 sweep at Orr Park. Then, the Falcons came up empty in a three game series on the road at Valdosta State. The Falcons lost the first two games 9-2 and 3-1. In the final game, UM took a 5-2 lead in the seventh inning, only to see it evaporate on a walk-off grand slam. The Falcons fell to 7-10 and 1-3 in the GSC with the losses

MEN'S LACROSSE
The Montevallo men's lacrosse team took a 10-6 loss to No. 3 Indianapolis, after a hard tight home field battle.  With the loss the Falcons fell to 3-3 overall this season. Jackson Neufeld and Thomas Vaesen had two goals each for the Falcons in the loss.

UM WLAX

WOMEN'S LACROSSE
The Montevallo women's lacrosse team came up just short against No. 18 Lander University, falling 13-12 after hard fought match up on the road, Saturday afternoon.  With the loss the Falcons fall to 2-4 and 0-1 in conference. Eleanor Bruce had a stellar game in defeat, scoring four goals and two assists to lead the Falcons.

Tennis - Tanner Stancil

MEN'S  TENNIS
The Montevallo men's tennis team suffer their first loss of the season on Saturday, falling to No. 6 West Florida 7-0. The loss dropped the Falcons to 3-1 and 1-1 in the Gulf South Conference.

WTEN Action

WOMEN'S TENNIS
The Montevallo women's tennis team was defeated 5-2 by No. 12 West Florida on Saturday afternoon at the UM Tennis Complex. The Falcons fell to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the Gulf South Conference. Isabelle Barfoot and Lieselott Hartlohner each won their singles matches. Barfoot won her No. 5 singles match 6-4, 6-1 and Hartlohner win 6-0, 6-0. Eva Dirr and Mireia Turro won their No. 1 doubles match, but the Argonauts won the other two doubles sets to take two of three.

MEN'S GOLF
The Montevallo men's golf team finished 16th at the GSW Hurricane Invitational (hosted by Georgia Southwestern University). As a team, the Falcons shot 45-over-par (909). Eric Boutwell was the top finisher for UM, capping of the tournament with a 5-over-par - 221, which tied him for 37th. Landon Wockenfuss tied for 52nd with a score of 8-over-par - 224. Harrison Hughes and Gregory Jones tied at 74th at 16-over-par, while Brock McNeely was 90th at 30-over-par.

Track and Field Generic

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD
The Montevallo outdoor track & field teams kicked off the 2022 season at the Victor Ice Breaker Duals, hosted by Berry College.  Both squads finished third with the men's team scoring 116.5 points and the women's team scoring 87 points.
