Hall of Fame
The 1988 volleyball team became the school’s first team to advance to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Final Four in any sport. The team finished the season with a 41-7 overall record and a .854 winning percentage, both program records at the time. The team claimed the NAIA District 27 Championship during the regular season and entered the 1988 NAIA national tournament as the No. 2 seed in the nation. The team also earned the Sportsmanship Trophy at the national tournament. Team members included Latanja Thomas, Cheryl Imsand, Andrea Burke, Michelle Durham, Sheila Young, Cathy Terrell, Rena Cosby, Amy Krieble, Denise Heisler, Angie Jenkins and Carrie Shivers. Coaches included head coach Judy Green, graduate assistant coach Tim Elliff and graduate assistant coach Karen Jackson.The athletic trainer was Rachel Akin, the equipment manager was Leighsa Robinson and the statistician was Stephanie Bolling.
