Anthony Glaude

Anthony Glaude is regarded as one of the top players to ever wear a Falcon uniform. Glaude played at Montevallo from 1982-84 after transferring to UM from Patrick Henry Junior College, and stands atop the UM record books in single-season scoring, setting the UM record with 597 points in the 1983-84 season. Glaude averaged 19.9 per game on a team that went 19-11 under then-coach Bill Elder that season.

He was named to the Southern States Conference all -tournament team that season as he led the Falcons to the tournament's title game, where they lost to host Auburn Montgomery, 63-58. He was team MVP and was picked as MVP of the first SSC all-star game. Anthony, whom Elder called "a guy that was just overlooked by the Division I schools" in the newspaper, scored 331 points during the 1982-83 season at a 12.3 per game average on a team that went 16-12.

His #20 jersey was retired at Patrick Henry in 1982, and he won the award given to the top UM student-athlete as a senior.

A native of Mobile, Glaude earned a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Montevallo in 1984 and is currently a lieutenant communications officer in the U.S. Army, which he entered in 1985. He has continued to play basketball in the Army, and won numerous awards.

He has served tours in Belgium, Germany, Korea, Virginia and Texas, and is currently stationed at Ft. Stewart Ga. Anthony makes his home in Hinesville, where he is married to the former Tonya Weston and has two children, Tangie (16) and Damita (2) and is expecting another child in May.
