Walker, one of the most prolific hitters to ever play baseball for Montevallo continues to hold nine UM baseball school records; .458, Highest Career Batting Average, .395, Most Times on Base, 136, Most Runs Batted in, 80, Most Home Runs in a Season, 25, Most Home Runs in a Career, 54, Total bases, 162, Highest Slugging Percentage, .964, and Highest on Base Percentage, .599.

He was All-district, All-Conference in 1985, 1987 and 1988, NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 1987. In 1988 Chris was selected as University of Montevallo MVP, district Player of the Year, Area 5 Player of the Year and First Team All-American.

He is one of only four players since 1965 to earn back-to-back school MVP awards. Walker's outstanding performances set the standard for all who follow him.
