Robert C. "Bob" Chapman was a member of the inaugural club basketball program at Montevallo and a former University of Montevallo Board Member. He completed his bachelor of science in chemistry, with minors in biology and math, and graduated from Alabama College in 1963. After receiving his master of science in Hospital and Healthcare Administration at UAB, he began a 37-year career in healthcare administration. Chapman is a former President and CEO of Eastern Health System in Birmingham. During his career, he earned multiple awards including a University of Montevallo National Alumni Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2000 and was inducted into the Alabama Healthcare Hall of Fame in 2012. Montevallo athletic department's training room is named after Chapman and his late wife, June. Chapman, a member of the UM Foundation Board, believes his time at Montevallo provided a foundation for his future success.
