Matt Mitchell was a two-time All-Gulf South Conference selection at two different positions during his playing career, which spanned 1999-2000. Matt was selected first team All-Conference as both an outfielder and a relief pitcher in each of his two seasons. Matt finished his playing career with a .367 batting average and 21 home runs while driving in 101 runs. Matt also registered a 3.03 earned run average in his career as a relief pitcher while recording 17 saves, the second most career saves recorded in program history. Matt also picked off 20 base runners during his career, which rank him second in program history. Matt helped the Falcons compile a program record 44 wins during his senior season. He also served as an assistant coach for Montevallo after his playing career.
