Arthur “Ott” Knight played men’s basketball and baseball at Montevallo from 1971-73. He compiled a men’s basketball program record 285 career assists that still stands today. Knight registered 19 assists against West Alabama during his lone season with the men’s basketball team, which is tied for the most assists in a single game in program history. Knight served as a team captain for both the men’s basketball team and baseball team, and helped each team win an Alabama Collegiate Conference Championship. Knight served as the head men’s basketball coach at Bevill State Community College for two years from 2000-02, garnering 43 career victories. Knight has also coached AAU basketball and claimed seven AAU Alabama State Championships while also competing for two AAU National Championships. Knight helped develop the Park and Recreation Program for the City of Montevallo in 1973. He currently owns the ABC Princeton Daycare in Birmingham, Alabama.
