University of Montevallo Athletics

Bassam Karim enjoyed one of the most prolific careers in University of Montevallo men's soccer history from 1998-2001. A two-time First Team All-Gulf South Conference selection in 2000 and 2001, Karim established himself as one of the program's premier goal scorers.

Karim ranks fourth in program history with 35 career goals, while his breakout 2000 campaign remains one of the finest individual seasons in Montevallo history. He scored 19 goals that season, the third-most in a single season in program history and the eighth-most in Gulf South Conference history. His 58 shots on goal in 2000 also rank 10th in GSC history.

One of Karim's most memorable performances came against Lipscomb in 2000 when he recorded three goals and two assists for eight points, tying the Montevallo single-match record. He also finished the season averaging 2.26 points per match, the second-highest single-season mark in program history. His averages of 1.00 goals per match and 2.26 points per match ranked 15th and 21st nationally, respectively, at the time.

Karim also played a pivotal role in one of the defining moments in Falcon soccer history, helping lead Montevallo to its first-ever Gulf South Conference Championship in 1999.
