Cara Melton Blakes was a two-time All-Gulf South Conference selection during her playing career, which spanned 1999-2003. Cara finished her playing career with 1,061 career points and 893 career rebounds, which places her third in the record book for the most career rebounds in program history. Cara also recorded 345 blocked shots in her career, which mark the most career blocked shots in program history. Cara recorded a team-high 104 blocked shots as a junior in 2001-02, which is tied for the most blocked shots in a single season in program history. Her 11 blocked shots against West Georgia as a junior place her second in the record book for most blocked shots in a single game. Cara averaged a team-high 13.1 points per game and a team-high 10.6 rebounds per game as a senior in 2002-03.
