Arin Eddy Cockrell, a standout in women’s golf, excelled during her time at the University of Montevallo from 2014 to 2017. Eddy came to the bricks in the fall of 2014 after playing her freshman season at Samford. Over the next three years, the Hartselle, Alabama native left a significant impact on the UM women’s golf program. Eddy graduated with a degree in Exercise Science in 2018. Later, she received her master’s in education from West Alabama. Throughout her career, Eddy was a three-time First Team All-Peach Belt Conference selection and earned PBC Player of the Year honors in 2017. In her first season on the bricks, Eddy was named to the 2014-15 Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Second Team. In her senior season, Eddy earned WGCA All-American honors once more. Eddy claimed the 2017 PBC Individual Championship, capping off her Hall of Fame career. The UM Athletic Department named Eddy a co-winner of the prestigious Margaret Blalock Award in 2017, given to the Most Outstanding Female Student-Athlete. Eddy’s commitment to success extended to the classroom as she earned PBC Silver Scholar honors and was a Presidential Honor roll selection. Currently, she teaches Special Education at Hartselle Junior High School.
