1990 UM Hall of Fame Inductee, Wylie Tucker, stepped on the University of Montevallo campus in the fall of 1974 and during his stay at UM he became one of the best point guards to ever run the floor in Myrick Gymnasium. During his four-year career at UM, Tucker averaged 10.6 points per game and became the school's all-time leader in games played (118) and assists (487). He is currently sixth on the all-time Falcon scoring list with 1,253 points. He made six All-Tournament teams, was named Best Defensive Player three times and earned team MVP honors in his final season.

During his NAIA All-American year of 1977-78, he averaged 13.2 points, dished out 163 assists and notched 82 steals. He also shot .451 from the floor and hit .753 from the free throw line. He was a three-time All-Tournament pick and made All-Conference, All-District 27 and the All-State Small College Team in addition to his All-American honor.
