2000 UM Hall of Fame Inductee, Alisa Carter originally came to the University of Montevallo from Ramsay High School (Birmingham, AL) on a basketball scholarship, despite never playing high school ball. As a freshman she averaged 10.7 points and 6.5 rebounds a game. During her second year at UM she returned to the volleyball court, playing four years on teams that amassed a record of 149-42 (.780) under Judy Green. Alisa immediately provided the Lady Falcon volleyball team with a powerful left-handed threat.

Carter was a three-time All-District 27 player, earning honors following the 1990-92 seasons. Touted as the premier right side player in the NAIA, Carter reached her peak during the 1992 season. During her senior campaign, she led a 41-9 squad to their 11th straight NAIA National Tournament appearance. Carter also earned First Team All-American honors from the AVCA, ASICS Tiger and NAIA, becoming only the second player in school history to earn the All-American trio.

Alisa Carter finished her career at Montevallo listed among the top five in career kills (1237), career blocks (401), career hitting percentage (.309) and hitting percentage in a season (.360). She currently ranks in the top ten in all those categories along with career block solos (85) and career attacks (2792).
