University of Montevallo Athletics

Fred Blackmon served the University of Montevallo and its athletic department for nearly three decades. He was a professor in the department of physics and mathematics for 28 years.

For 26 of those years he served as a member of the Faculty Athletic Committee. For 18 years he served the University and its athletic department as Faculty Athletic Chairman and also served as the NAIA District Eligibility Chairman for 16 years.

He went above and beyond his school duties by volunteering after school hours and promoting school spirit by serving as the public address announcer for Falcon basketball for over 20 years.

Fred Blackmon's unselfish dedication to the University and its athletic department set a precedent for all who love Montevallo.
