Rena Cosby played volleyball at Montevallo from 1988-91. One of the best players to ever come through the program, Rena ranks second all-time at UM in block solos (183), second in total blocks (668), 10th in hitting percentage (.289), fourth in kills (1,464) and games played (534) and ninth in total attacks (2,696). She helped lead the Lady Falcons in all of the above categories in her junior and senior seasons and played on teams that compiled an amazing 153-39 record and went to the NAIA National Tournament all four seasons she was on the team.

Rena was selected first-team AVCA All-American in 1991, NAIA All-South Region in 1990 and NAIA All-America three times (1989, 1990, and 1991). She was also named to the NAIA All-National Tournament to end her senior season in addition to being chosen as the District 27 "Freshman of the Year" in 1988, and All District in 1989. She is one of just two players in UM history to total more than 1,000 kills and 500 blocks in a career.

A native of Decatur, Cosby prepped at Austin High and was born March 19, 1970. She currently works as a case manager at the Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama and stays busy helping run a car dealership and coaching girls' volleyball. She graduated in May of 1993 with a bachelor's degree in social work, with a minor in counseling and guidance.
